Found my rear Kenda tire at Dennis Kirk for $46 and some change. I'll be ordering in the next month or two. Might order two and be ready for this change AND the next one! We put on the last one at 10,315 and I'm at 16,400 now. Should be okay until at least 18 or 19K. Paid $76 for the last two. I can almost get two at Kirks for the price of one before.

You should think about getting the tires sooner due to the price increase that is hitting the market.

I was checking on tires for Dad early this week, and the price has jumped since the last order. The Mezler that we got last time was 310 for the set - now it 380 at the same place. Must have something to do with Exxon's record profit.

Man, I'm glad I ordered when I did. Now I wish I had ordered two rears. I paid $59.00 shipping and all just last Sunday.

I guess I have waited too long to go ahead with the rear tire change. I happened to walk behind it today and there's a 1" x 1" section of cord showing. I plan to pull the tire tomorrow but it may take two days (doctor appt early morning Monday). Bill, are you up to a Wednesday magic session?

No problem, just remind me Tuesday and I'll get the balancer and bring it.

I know what close looks like now. When I got home I checked the radar and decided I would have to go out tonight and put the bike together. I got out there at 2AM and got busy. I had a problem with the swing arm and getting the axle on at the same time and making sure the drive shaft stayed in, all in practical darkness. All along it was lightning in the west and getting closer and brighter. Finally it went on. I secured the drive, the axel and brake caliper, pipes and saddle. I ran in, got the key and at 330 drove it from the backyard to the carport. I shuttled the bags, back seat and sissy bar to the back of the truck. I grabbed all the tools, just threw them on the truck seat and slammed the door. Apparently the sound ripped a cloud, because it started to pour. That's CLOSE!
Thanks Bill for your skills. I'll be taking it to the farm tomorrow night, thanks to you! I'm sure Corey will thank you because he'll probably get another long ride this weekend. Pics will follow as soon as I can of Bill working his magic at the hobby shop.
