Ok so I just finished typing this up and thought i would share it. I would consider it local but it does cross a couple of county lines and one state line...so here goes..
Ok so this is a route I have been taking lately...
To start this route we are going to start by taking the Lee Stokes Rd. exit off of Hwy 82 East (that would be the ¡°by-pass¡±...lol)
Hang a right onto Lee Stokes Road and go until you get to the first intersection. This will be Lee Stokes Road and Hwy 182¡. You are going to travel strait on to Mert Rickman Rd...This has one good right hand sweeper¡At the stop sign you are going to take a right onto Beersheba Rd. A couple of tighter turns then you will take the right hand fork in the road, this will put you onto Mt. Vernon Rd. Strait until you reach Hwy 182.
Left on hwy 182¡through one stop sign and be looking for Phillips Hill Rd on the Right, (this runs next to The Country Junction) Starts out nice and curvy then mellows out in the middle then fires back up at the end¡
At the end of this you will be back on Lee Stokes Rd. You are now going to take a Left and follow this till the stop sign (intersection of Lee Stokes Rd and Tabernacle Rd.) You will go left on Tabernacle¡Take this until you get to Hwy 50. Take a right on Hwy 50 (this section is fun when there is NO traffic, with the nice banked turns) you are going to be going until you get to Gun Shoot Rd... this will be a Left, right after a large trailer that says ¡°Humping To Please¡± with a big Octopus on it¡take this until you get to Sand Road..(This a decent road with little traffic (most of the time)) Take this until you get to Hwy 12 W...Take a right and go until you hit Jemison Mill Rd.¡.take this right. This will take you back to Steen¡¯s road. Take a right and head toward Steens...
At Steens you are going to take a Left on Steens-Vernon Rd¡.Follow this over the railroad tracks and go about another mile and you will see Fernbank on the right, merge on the Right. Open her up and enjoy the scenery, because this is about 30ish miles long¡When you reach the end you will take a left on hwy 14 North¡take this quite a few miles until you get into Vernon¡you will see a mc Donald¡¯s¡(this one usually has clean bathrooms for the men and ladies)
When leaving McDonalds you will take a right out of the parking lot back toward Millport¡look for County road 9 (it is right past the Dollar General) take said right and have fun¡this will bring you back to Steens at the intersection you will take a left and go back down gunshoot until you get to the end¡take a left then a right on Plesant Hill Rd. This will take you back to the 82 4-lane¡
I plan on doing more scouting around off of fern bank here in the near future¡so maybe there will be more to come¡ if anyone would like to join me in my scouting adventures feel free to speak up and we can set a time and head out..
